[Club Meeting] Guest Speaker: Juan F. Lago

Our Speaker for the evening is Juan Lago who has kindly agreed to speak to us about the history of Cuba and some of its current affairs.

Juan was born in Cuba and lived there to the age of 12 when he emigrated to the United States (Miami, FL).  As a child he lived in Santiago de Cuba, the city where Fidel Castro staged his first attack on the government military barracks in 1956.  He was there through the revolution and its conclusion in 1959 when the Revolutionary forces took over the government.  He left Cuba for Miami, FL in 1962, giving him the opportunity to experience the Bay of Pigs invasion while in Cuba and the 1962 Missile Crisis in Miami.  Juan earned a Bachelors of Arts degree from Florida International University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Houston.  He has worked in the banking industry since 1980 as a commercial lender in areas ranging from International lending to large corporate and public finance and now as a small business lender specializing in government guaranteed loans.

We also welcome Dunwoody Rotarians to talk about the upcoming Governors Ball on Saturday March 3. We will also discuss other upcoming projects and events as usual.
